Shipyard Brewing Company’s newest beer, Shipyard American Pale Ale, will be available nationwide in April. This refreshing session beer is bursting with grapefruit citrus flavor and features hops from the Pacific Northwest.
Shipyard American Pale Ale was first released in 2013 in the United Kingdom through a unique partnership between Shipyard Brewing Company and Marston’s in the UK. It turns out, beer drinkers across the pond love American beer (or “new world” beer as they call it) as much as we do. Hundreds of draft lines of Shipyard American Pale Ale are flowing in the UK.
Now, in 2014, Shipyard American Pale Ale is available in the US on draft and in bottles from sea to shining sea.
While in Rome this month Kate Cone, author of "What's Brewing in New England: A Guide to Brewpubs and Microbreweries," sent us a postcard from her trip via this blog post.
In addition to Italy, Shipyard is available in Canada, England, and coming soon to Brazil. If you come across Shipyard beer during your travels in the US, Canada, or abroad send us a post card of your own!
Grazie, Kate, for this shout out from Rome. Salute!
Thank you to all our fans who connect with us each day through social media, snail mail, and email. We enjoy reading your Shipyard stories and notes of support from around the world.
As we celebrate 20 years in 2014, we are starting a new tradition. Every month we will select one piece of fan mail to share. Our selection this month came to us from a Facebook fan in California. It made us smile.

Marston’s Brewery in England aims to quench the growing thirst for ‘new world’ craft beers by building on the existing collaboration with Shipyard Brewing Co, which will see the launch of Shipyard American Pale Ale in a draught 30 litre keg format in May.
This collaboration is the next stage of a partnership established between Ringwood and Shipyard to distribute Old Thumper in the USA over 15 years ago.
American Pale Ale is a new interpretation of Shipyard’s Independence Pale Ale which has been a success on Marston’s guest cask ale programme and will be brewed in collaboration with the Marston’s brewing team at their Park brewery in Wolverhampton. At 4.5% and bursting with a Citrus hop aroma, American Pale Ale is crafted using four American hops: Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial.
