XXXX IPA BRINED HOT WINGS

Check out this deliciously spicy way to kick off your Super Bowl party.

The citrusy hop notes of XXXX IPA pull through and compliment the spicy kick of these wings.

These will be a crowd pleaser during your Super Bowl festivities.

2 lbs chicken wings
1 tbsp packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp kosher salt or sea salt
1 clove garlic, smashed
¼ cup of unsalted butter
¼ cup of your favorite cayenne pepper sauce
2 cups Shipyard XXXX IPA

To make the brine: whisk together the brown sugar, salt, and XXXX IPA. Clean and dry the chicken wings and place in a medium-sized bowl. Pour the brine over the chicken wings and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Remove the chicken wings from the brine and pat dry. Dispose of the brine. Put about an inch of water in a large pot with a steam basket. Place the wings in the steam basket and steam on a medium heat for about 10 minutes.

Remove the wings and place on a rack to dry. Put the wings back in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan over low-medium heat reduce ½ cup XXXX IPA to about a ¼ cup. Add the smashed garlic and butter. Once the butter is melted add the cayenne pepper sauce.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F

Line a baking sheet with foil and place the wings on the sheet. Cook for 20 minutes then flip and cook for another 20 minutes, until the wings are cooked through and golden brown.

Remove from the oven, place in a bowl and toss with the beer and cayenne pepper sauce.

Enjoy with the remainder of your XXXX IPA and your football game of choice!
