Since brewing our first beer in 1992, Shipyard Brewing Company has always been about Discovery. As every great journey starts at home and our own journey has been greatly supported and influenced by our nearest and dearest, it’s our hope that our partnerships with family, friends and the community help share our mission with as many people as possible and enable us to give back where we can.
That being said, due to the high volume of donation requests we receive, we struggle to cater to all the good events and support all the wonderful causes we’d love to be a part of. We’ve been lucky enough to meet a lot of great folks along the way and be part of some amazing community events including our own, we currently have a pretty full calendar of events that we’re dedicated to supporting.
We do love to hear about all your ideas, big or small, but also want to apologize in advance if we are not able to get back to you. The volume of great events and causes is pretty high, so it you’re successful in your application, we will contact you directly. Unfortunately we cannot consider requests with less than 30 days’ notice.
Please keep in mind, that our biggest drive is sharing our love of beer, our Discover More ethos and our deep community roots as our chance to give back. We give preference to events, causes and organizations that better the communities we are engaged with and where we as a brewing company can provide benefit to.
GUIDELINES
Who do we give to?
We care about the causes our family, friends and community care about. We also choose to support organizations that align with our long term goals and that echo the love we have for our community.
Who don’t we give to?
Our in-kind donations are aimed at sharing the love with our community by giving back to the causes they care about. However, given that we are a beer company, there are certain charitable causes that we tread carefully around.
Moreover, Shipyard will not support organizations that discriminate against a person or a group on the basis of age, political affiliation, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.
Where do we give?
Our giving is focused on the communities in which we do business. However, if our support is through supplying beer, we prefer that it be picked up from our Portland, Maine warehouse. We also make exceptions for causes we or our community cares deeply about across the United States.
What do we give?
Beer, duh! But that’s not all, we can also give gift vouchers, brewery Tasting vouchers, merchandise or event space. Check out our website and merch store for more details on those.
When to apply?
Please submit your request at least 30 days prior to the event / donation date. The earlier the better! Please note that we operate on a calendar year, and that our calendar starts to get full by March for Summer events each year. So if you're asking for a considerable donation, it's best to get in touch as much in advance as possible.
How to apply?
