Upon arriving at the Shipyard Tasting Room you will check with our crew. From there your guide will take you through the Shipyard brewing process, focusing on the quality ingredients that go into our handcrafted brews – water, malts, hops, and yeast.

Starting on the ground floor of the brewery, you will learn the importance of water in the brew process and understand just how lucky breweries in Maine are to have some of the purest natural spring water right in our backyard. From there we head to the 2nd floor to discuss yeast and our unique open fermentation process.

Making our way to the 3rd floor we learn about the wort boil and check out the iconic direct fire kettles of the Peter Austin Brick Kettle Brewing System’s iconic direct fire kettles. We end the tour on the bottling line, where Shipyard beers are bottled, canned, kegged and shipped across the US.

After the tour, you are welcome to grab a tasting flight or a pint of beer and take in all you’ve learned. Our Tasting Room staff is there to answer any questions you may have.
